The webPDF portal and its OCR webservice allow you to run optical character recognition on graphics and scanned files and convert them into editable formats.

With webPDF, you can convert more than 100 different formats. It also lets you archive business emails in a legally compliant way, make graphics and scanned or faxed documents editable, and apply signatures and timestamps to PDF files.

Optical input devices such as scanners and digital cameras mostly create raster graphics. These graphics may contain text, but that text cannot be processed directly by a computer. Editing or searching text inside graphic formats like .png or .jpg is not possible.
