webPDF used with SAP at Würth Finance International

Large companies often employ the webPDF software solution in combination with SAP. A widely used enterprise application software, SAP is ideally suited for handling all the business processes found in larger operations. SAP empowers people to manage their accounting, customer management, and human resources missions quickly and easily.
The following example shows how combining SAP with webPDF not only saves time, but also makes processes more user-friendly.
Many companies use webPDF to convert and process files directly from within SAP, for example for emailing or archiving. Because the entire workflow is automated in the background, users hardly notice the process at all. A good example of this is Wuerth Finance International B.V.
Back in 2017, the company was looking for an additional automated PDF solution. Thanks to a recommendation from the SAP partner XFT, a collaboration with SoftVision Development was established and ultimately led to the introduction of webPDF.

What is webPDF used for at Wuerth Finance?
webPDF is used to automatically convert Office files from SAP into PDF and send them by email. Stephan Tanner, who is responsible for the SAP contract lifecycle management solution at Wuerth Finance, described the situation before the introduction as follows: "Before using webPDF, we first had to convert documents into PDF manually and then distribute them. Given our business volume, this involved a considerable amount of time and effort. In 2017, we therefore moved toward an automated and integrated PDF conversion solution."
"The most important requirement we placed on the software was seamless integration and reliable operation within SAP. We found out about SoftVision's webPDF tool thanks to a recommendation from XFT in Walldorf, and a collaboration began shortly thereafter. Since introducing the application, we have seen a significant increase in efficiency."
Stephan Tanner also emphasized the practical relief: "Work gets done much faster, especially when you think about what it used to mean in combination with SAP to convert every single document manually, and at the scale of our business. The automated webPDF process is a tremendous help for us. For me, the real highlight is the application's reliability. The software works flawlessly together with SAP and we have not encountered any problems."
How did the webPDF rollout go at Wuerth Finance?
"Four parties were ultimately involved in implementing webPDF: SoftVision Development from Fulda, XFT from Walldorf, Wuerth Finance and our corporate IT service provider. The implementation and rollout went smoothly, even though a few details first had to be coordinated because several companies were involved. Overall, it was a positive experience and no dedicated user training was needed because the software runs largely in the background," explained Tanner.
Usability of webPDF
"Another benefit of this software is how users neither notice nor are distracted by what is going on in the background. The fact that almost no support is required simply enhances the user experience. Our contact with SoftVision Development was exceptionally good and we appreciated all the efforts they made and how extremely helpful they were."
